Looking for playing opportunities in 2014? Start with the IMG Academy Preseason Series.

The entry criteria for the IMG Academy Preseason Series has changed specifically to help new and returning members who have not played in or been accepted to an AJGA tournament in the current (2014) season or previous season. Priority will be given based on graduation year, with juniors first, followed by seniors, sophomores, freshmen and all other graduation years*.

The IMG Academy Preseason Series is composed of 13 events conducted during the spring and offers the opportunity to build Performance Based Entry (PBE) status before application deadlines arrive for summer Open and Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series events.

The AJGA has added tournament opportunities in the Series by adding one event and increasing overall participation opportunities to give more members the opportunity to build PBE status.

Events will be hosted in all five regions including three events contested on new golf courses: Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, N.C., The Foundry Golf Club in Powhatan, Va., and Winnetka Golf Club in Winnetka, Ill.

Pine Island Country Club was recently renovated by Mike Gleason in 2006 and challenges golfers with rolling hills and tree-lined fairways. A signature of The Foundry Golf Club is its vintage clubhouse building which was originally constructed in the early 1800s. Winnetka Golf Club was originally built in 1914 as a nine-hole facility. Now it has 18 holes and a premiere indoor practice facility for golfers of all skills ranges to practice during the cold winter months.

Prominent AJGA players who have made their start on the IMG Academy Preseason Series include: Brad Dalke, currently ranked No. 2 in the Polo Golf Rankings; Bethany Wu, two-time ANNIKA Invitational champion currently-ranked No. 5 in the Polo Golf Rankings; and Alison Lee, 2013 Rolex Junior Player of the Year and currently-ranked No. 1 women’s amateur golfer.

*AJGA members who have already been accepted into one or more AJGA tournaments are able to submit applications for events in the IMG Academy Preseason Series, but they will be held on an alternate list and only able to obtain a tournament spot a week after the initial field is posted IF spots remain at that time. These applicants will be prioritized on the alternate list by the lowest number of prior acceptances. Members who have earned Fully Exempt status are not permitted to apply to the IMG Academy Preseason Series.
