David Lee of Houston, and Karen Chung of Livingston, N.J.,  are  currently representing the United States at the Junior Open Championship (July 12-14), a biennial event accompanying The Open Championship. The tournament takes place on Scotland's east coast at Lundin Golf Club in Fife.

Inaugurated in 1994, the Junior Open came under The R&A’s administrative control in 2000. All national golf organizations are invited to send one boy and one girl, under the age of 16, to compete in the event, a 54-hole stroke play competition.

With 77 nations represented, this year’s tournament marks the largest and most internationally diverse entry in the 16-year history of the event.

Lee is currently ranked No. 16 in the Polo Golf Rankings and has compiled three top-five finishes in 2010, including a victory at the Laredo Energy Junior at Traditions and a third-place showing at the Rolex Tournament of Champions.

Chung is a two-time Rolex Junior All American and has earned 17 top-10 finishes in national junior golf competition in addition to the title at the 2009 AJGA Girls Championship. She has earned three top-10 finishes in 2010, including a third-place finish at the ANNIKA Invitational.

Jordan Spieth of Dallas, took home the trophy at the 2008 event.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend the 150th anniversary of The Open Championship at St. Andrews, just 12 miles away, following the completion of their event.
