Golf Pride / David Leadbetter Junior Classic

Manuel Girona of Windermere, Florida, shot a tournament total of 1-under-par 215 at the Golf Pride / David Leadbetter Junior Classic and was crowned the Boys Division champion. Girona, 15, led wire-to-wire and won by four strokes.

In the Girls Division, Kelsey Zeng of Orlando, Florida, carded a final-round 2-under-par 70 to claim her first AJGA title with a tournament total of 5-under-par 211. She tallied three birdies on the back nine to come from behind and win by three strokes. Zeng’s sister, Courtney, won the Golf Pride / David Leadbetter Junior Classic in 2014.

IJGA Junior Open

JonErik Alford of Roswell, Georiga, shot an even-par 216 to win the IJGA Junior Open. After entering the third round six shots back and tied for ninth place, Alford carded a 4-under-par 68 with back-to-back birdies on the final two holes to win his first AJGA title. The 16-year-old is verbally committed to Kennesaw State University.

In the Girls Division, Ana Paula Ramirez of Pachuca, Mexico, won after shooting 10-over-par 226 at Bear Creek Golf Club. A par on No. 18 in the final round secured the 17-year-old’s second AJGA victory. This win is Ramirez’s eighth top-10 finish in her three seasons with the AJGA.

Insperity Invitational AJGA Junior Championship hosted by Patrick Reed

After multiple delays due to inclement weather, the Insperity Invitational AJGA Junior Championship hosted by Patrick Reed concluded after one round.

Noah Goodwin of Corinth, Texas, shot a 2-under-par 70 to win the Boys Division.  The 14-year-old ended the tournament with a chip-in birdie to top the leaderboard. In his three seasons with the AJGA, Goodwin has tallied seven top-10 finishes, including a win at the 2014 Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star.

Madison Kidd of Lake Jackson, Texas, won the Girls Division after shooting 1-under-par 71 at The Woodlands Country Club - Tournament Course. Kidd collected four birdies on the way to her first AJGA victory and eighth top-10 finish. The rising senior is verbally committed to the University of Texas San Antonio.

Junior All-Star at Fox Meadow

Kurtis Grant of Herndon, Virginia, made a crucial birdie on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the Junior All-Star at Fox Meadow. Grant carded the low final-round score of 4-under-par 68 to force the playoff with Andrew O’Leary of Norfolk, Massachusetts, as both players finished with a 2-under-par 214 tournament total.

In the Girls Division, Erin Rowland of Louisville, Kentucky, maintained her second-round lead to top the leaderboard with a 2-over-par 218. After firing a 2-over-par 74 in the final round, Rowland, 15, claimed her first victory in her second AJGA event. 

ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior

Devin Hua of Barrigada, Guam, shot a 6-under-par 210 to win at the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior. Hua began the final round two strokes behind, and five final-round birdies helped him shoot 69 and win by two. 

In the Girls Division, Rong Ji of Rancho Santa Fe, California, won at Mission Hills Country Club after shooting a 7-under-par 209. Ji finished four strokes ahead to earn her first AJGA title and 11th top-10 finish. She will attend the University of Southern California in the fall.

AJGA Kansas Junior at Buffalo Dunes

Courtney Dow of Frisco, Texas, successfully defended her title and won the AJGA Kansas Junior at Buffalo Dunes with a 4-under-par 212. Dow, who won the Under Armour® / Hunter Mahan Championship in March, carded three birdies in her final-round even-par 72 to win her fifth AJGA title by six strokes.

In the Boys Division, Nicholas Duggan of San Antonio shot a 1-over-par 217 to win at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course. Duggan carded five birdies in the final round, including a chip-in on the par-4 10th, to help him secure a one-stroke victory.
