The 27th annual Wyndham Cup begins Tuesday at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. The morning session will feature 10 four-ball matches, while the afternoon session will feature five mixed foursome matches. Here are Three Things to know before play begins.
Four-ball specialists
Hailee Cooper and Kaitlyn Papp have been teammates on PING Junior Solheim Cup and Wyndham Cup teams, and they will compete in their favorite format in the morning's anchor match. The duo won five four-ball matches en route to the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship title in May. They will face the East Team's Emilia Migliaccio and Rachel Heck in Match 10, starting at 9:18 a.m. Tuesday.
Match play rematch
Three of the four semifinalists from last week's U.S. Junior Amateur are competing in the final boys match of the morning. The West's Noah Goodwin advanced to the finals after he defeated the East's John Pak in 20 holes, while the East's Eugene Hong also won four matches on his way to a semifinal appearance. Goodwin will team up with Spencer Soosman, whose match play experience includes a win at the 2014 Polo Golf Junior Classic.
Setting the tone
Since 2008, the team leading after the first day has gone on to claim the Wyndham Cup seven of the eight years. The only comeback came in 2014, when the West rallied from an 8-7 deficit to retain the Cup with a 25-25 tie.

2010 - West led 8-7 (West won 25.5-24.5)
2011 - East led 9-6 (East won 32-18)
2012 - East led 8.5-6.5 (East retained after 25-25 tie)
