Three Things: Friday at #JrPLAYERS

One of the top junior golf tournaments in the world kicks off today at Sawgrass Country Club as 78 of the best junior golfers in the world compete on the national stage.

Holy Hermine!

With hurricane Hermine moving through norther Florida, the wind will play a factor in Fridays first round. Tee times are delayed and players will battle tough conditions that will be a true test of golf on a PGA TOUR caliber golf course.

Top players looking for top finishes

The Nos. 1 and 2 players in the Polo Golf Rankings will go head-to-head at Sawgrass Country Club. No. 1 ranked player Davis Shore looks to add a second Invitational title to his 2016 trophy case. Shore won the Rolex Tournament of Champions in June and also went undefeated in his second Wyndham Cup appearance. Trying to overtake the No. 1 spot is Florida native Eugene Hong. The 16-year-old Hong also took home an Invitational win in June with the Haas family Invitational at Sedgefield Country Club.

How it all came to be

Thirteen years ago, one man had a dream of a top-level junior golf tournament in northern Florida. Three years later that dream became a reality and this week marks the tenth time the Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf has been contested in the Jacksonville area.
