Here’s the Round of 32 matches to keep an eye on:

  1. Ricky Castillo vs. Mason Nome: Ricky Castillo of Yorba Linda, California, defeated Mason Nome of Houston in a Sunday four-ball match at Jimmy Walker last month. Castillo and Devondeep Bling of Ridgecrest, California, won 3 & 2 over Trey Winstead of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Nome. Castillo and Nome are two of seven players who advanced to the Round of 32 who also played in the inaugural match play event. Castillo is a two-time AJGA champion and a first-team Rolex Junior All-American. Nome is an honorable mention Rolex Junior All-American.
  2. Alyaa Abdulghany vs. Yealimi Noh: Californians Alyaa Abdulghany of Newport Beach, and Yealimi Noh of Concord, will face off in the Girls Division bracket. The pair competed as Wyndham Cup teammates on this year's winning West Team and played together in a Foursome match. They also each played in three more AJGA events together this year in addition to the U.S. Girls' Junior Championship and the Junior PGA Championship.
  3. Eugene Hong vs. Won Jun Lee:  Another matchup with 2016 Wyndham Cup East Team, Eugene Hong of Orlando, Florida, and Won Jun Lee of Wesley Chapel, Florida, have five AJGA victories between them. Hong collected his first AJGA Invitational win this year at the Haas Family Invitational, and Lee is a two-time first-team Rolex Junior All-American. Should Lee advance to the quarterfinals, he could match up against Austin Eckroat of Edmond, Oklahoma, whom he lost to 2&1 at Wyndham Cup.
