BB&T joins AJGA as Official Partner

Banking company increases AJGA support

BRASELTON, Ga. — The American Junior Golf Association has announced a two-year Official Partnership with BB&T, one of the largest financial services holding companies in the United States.

“We are excited to have BB&T as an Official Partner in 2017,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA chief business officer. “BB&T has been a longtime supporter of the AJGA and we are proud to grow and develop our relationship with the company.”

As a part of the Official Partnership, the financial services company will become Presenting Sponsor of the Haas Family Invitational presented by BB&T in Greensboro, North Carolina, June 12-16, 2017.

Involved as a tournament partner since 2011, BB&T’s continued support will help 84 of the world’s best young men compete at Sedgefield Country Club’s Donald Ross Course, home of the PGA TOUR’s Wyndham Championship.

The 72-hole, top boys AJGA Invitational has been a key career stop since 2002 for more than 40 Haas Family Invitational presented by BB&T alumni who have also made their way to the PGA TOUR. Past champions include TOUR pros Brian Harman (2003, 2004) and recent PGA TOUR SBS Tournament of Champions victor Justin Thomas (2009). Other tournament alumni include Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Reed, Webb Simpson, Billy Horschel, Harris English, Chris Kirk and Danny Lee.
