With the second round of the ANNIKA Invitational underway, take a look at three things to know for Sunday:

  • Emilie Alba Paltrinieri of Milan, Italy, took a one-stroke lead after the first round at the ANNIKA Invitational behind the strength of seven birdies, including three straight to begin her round. At 15 years old, Paltrinieri is making her debut in an AJGA event. Paltrinieri is verbally committed to UCLA.
  • The Italian is one shot ahead of four Americans in the field. Jenny Bae of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Brooke Seay of Rancho Santa Fe, California, Rachel Heck of Memphis, Tennessee, and Michaela Morard of Huntsville, Alabama, each carded 3-under-par 69s to tie for second. All four are members of either the class of 2019 or 2020.
  • The field participated in the “Winning Approach presented by Annika” after the first round. Annika told the crowd about her experiences at the University of Arizona before introducing Susan Watkins to the girls. Watkins, the former University of Texas women’s golf coach and a current AJGA College Golf Advisor, gave advice on recruiting and adjusting to college life.
