KPMG and LPGA Tour professional Stacy Lewis are working together with the AJGA to put on the KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational, June 19-22. This will be the third straight year for the KPMG and Stacy Lewis partnership with the AJGA.
Stacy Lewis is an AJGA alumna who has found success on the LPGA Tour. In her career on the LPGA Tour, Lewis has earned 11 LPGA Tour victories, two major championship wins, been a part of three Solheim Cup teams and has been twice named the Rolex Player of the Year.
Prior to her professional career, Lewis played in eight AJGA tournaments from 2001-2002. She then committed to play college golf at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. As a Razorback, Lewis won many collegiate events, including the Division I National Championship in 2007, and was named an NCAA All-American four times.
The Invitational will highlight 50 of the AJGA’s top juniors and will offer a unique format that is not found in any other AJGA event. Juniors will play in mixed twosomes of one boy and one girl throughout the tournament to promote the development of gender-blind competition. The field includes players ages 12-15 years old and 18 AJGA champions who have combined for 24 AJGA titles. Rose Zhang of Irvine, California, is the top-ranked player in the field at No. 27 in the AJGA rankings, while Jake Beber-Frankel of Miami, Florida, is the top-ranked boy in the field at No. 59.
Tee times for all rounds will run from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. off tee No. 1 at Fayetteville Country Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas, June 20-22.
About Stacy Lewis
Lewis, an AJGA alumna and two-time world No. 1, has partnered with the AJGA since 2012, first for the KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior Open and now for the KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational.
Lewis is a two-time LPGA Rolex Player of the Year with 11 LPGA Tour wins including two major championships at the 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship and the 2013 Ricoh Women’s British Open. She represented the United States at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and on three Solheim Cup teams.
One of the most decorated college players in NCAA history, Lewis graduated from the University of Arkansas, with 12 wins including the 2007 NCAA Individual Championship and 4 All-American honors while double majoring in finance & accounting.
The Toledo, Ohio, native played in eight AJGA events, with her career-best finish (T4) at the 2002 Action Zone/Bob Estes Abilene Junior. As a child, Lewis suffered from scoliosis and wore a back brace for 18 hours every day for almost seven years. She eventually had to have surgery to treat the condition and plays to this day with a metal rod and five screws fused to her spine.
