Formats

The match play event will feature five formats: four-ball, mixed four-ball, foursomes, mixed foursomes and singles. Wednesday will feature a morning four-ball and afternoon mixed foursome. A four-ball match is a match in which two players play their better ball against the better ball of two other players. The mixed foursome matches will feature one girl and one boy from each side playing one ball.

Heart of Sonoma

The Wyndham Cup visits California for the first time since 2013. Mayacama Golf Club, set in the hillsides of Sonoma Wine Country and designed by Jack Nicklaus in 2001, will host the AJGA for the first time since 2014. The course has hosted many championships in its short history. The prestigious course was ranked in the 100 Greatest Courses in History by Golf Digest from 2005-2014 and 2017. In 2011, Forbes magazine listed Mayacama Golf Club as one of the 12 Best Private Golf Communities in America.
