The AJGA hosted two Junior All-Star events and four open events in six different states across the country.
AJGA Philadelphia Junior – Two juniors had impressive showings at the AJGA Philadelphia Junior at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. Sho Wai Wu of Shanghai, China, tallied 10 birdies over three rounds to win his first AJGA title. The 17-year-old carded a 2-under-par 68 in the final round for a tournament-total 1-under-par 209. Kyra Cox of South Salem, New York, was the wire-to-wire winner in the Girls Division finishing at 1-over-par 211. She is currently No.72 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and earned her first victory at the 2015 Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Boston Junior.
Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream Junior All-Star – Karoline Tuttle of Lake Mary, Florida, won the Girls Division title in her hometown at the Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream Junior All-Star. The 13-year-old finished at 1-under-par 215 to claim her second title of 2017 after a victory at the 2017 AJGA Preview at Fair Oaks Ranch (Ages 12-15). Gray Albright of Ocala, Florida, carded a career-low round on his way to the Boys Division title. The Florida State verbal commit fired 10 birdies in the final round to finish at 9-under-par 63 and a tournament-total of 9-under-par 207.
AJGA Junior at Oak Tree – Crimson Callahan of Wesley Chapel, Florida, earned his second AJGA victory , after a 2-under-par 68 final round at the AJGA Junior at Oak Tree in Edmond, Oklahoma. The recent high school graduate tallied 15 birdies over the course of the event to finish at 6-under-par 204. Reese Guzman of Kahului, Hawaii, won back-to-back titles after finishing atop the leaderboard at Oak Tree Country Club. The 16-year-old recorded a bogey-free final-round to finish at 1-under-par 209.
the Memorial Junior – Julian Perico of (Peru) Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida, earned a victory on the Ohio State University Golf Club’s Scarlet Course with a score of 3-under-par 210. Currently No. 53 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Perico has finished in the top 20 of national junior golf events on five occasions in his career including a title at the 2017 IMG Academy Junior World Championship. Jingfan Deng of Shanghai, China, won the Girls Division at 8-over-par 221. The 14-year-old finished in the top-15 of every event in her two-year career.
AJGA City of London Junior Championship – Xin Kou of Windermere, Florida, earned back-to-back AJGA titles after winning the Girls Division at the 2017 Amino VITAL® Junior Championship and the AJGA City of London Junior Championship. The 14-year-old carded a final round low score of 5-under-par 67 for a tournament-total 7-under-par 209. Ryan Hall captured his first AJGA victory with 16 birdies and an eagle to finish at 10-under-par 205. The University of South Carolina verbal commit has finished in the top 10 on seven occasions since 2014.
AJGA Junior All-Star at Morongo – Both the Boys and Girls Division winners claimed their first AJGA victories at the AJGA Junior All-Star at Morongo in Beaumont, California. Eric Doyle of San Diego, climbed seven spots in the final round to earn the title at 7-under-par 209. Doyle carded six birdies and a bogey-free front nine on his way to victory. Kamille Dimayuga of Buena Park, California, recorded a tournament-total 13 birdies and a bogey-free front nine in the final round to finish with a score of 5-under-par 211.
