Susan Xiao of (China) Surrey, British Columbia, won the Canadian Junior Girls Championship at Camelot Golf and Country Club on August 4. The 15-year-old carded 14 birdies to finish five strokes ahead of the field at 5-under-par 283. Xiao has competed with the AJGA since 2015, having tallied five top-10 finishes. The rising junior is currently No. 147 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Dawson McDaniel of Bowling Green, Kentucky, holed out for eagle on No. 18 for his first AJGA title at the Bass Pro Shops / Payne Stewart Junior Championship. The 18-year-old carded 11 birdies on his way to a final round 3-under-par 68 to finish the tournament at 5-under-par 208. The Bass Pro Shops / Payne Stewart Junior Championship was McDaniel’s last junior golf tournament before beginning his collegiate golf career at Western Kentucky University.

Siblings Bo Jin and Joys (Jiarui) Jin of (China) Encinitas, California, won the Boys and Girls Divisions respectively at the AJGA Junior at RiverWatch at RiverWatch Golf Club in Sparta, Tennessee on August 3. The siblings each claimed their first AJGA victories. At just 14-years-old, Joys set her new AJGA-career best round after shooting 5-under-par 67 for a tournament-total 7-under-par 209. Older brother Bo carded 13 birdies and three eagles to finish at 12-under-par 204. The 15-year-old was bogey-free in the front nine of his second and final rounds.

The AJGA Junior at RiverWatch isn’t the first time the Jin siblings both scored well in an AJGA event. In June, the pair both finished inside the top-10 at the Azahara Munoz Championship by Transamerica. At the AJGA City of London Junior Championship in July, Joys finished runner-up in the Girls Division while Bo finished T5 for the boys. Both siblings are in their first season with the AJGA.
