AJGA QUALIFIER CANCELLED AT PENN OAKS GOLF CLUB
Performance-Based Entry fills out CorseMax/Philadelphia Runner Junior field
West Chester, Pa. — After an onset of continuous thunderstorms, play was discontinued and the American Junior Golf Association Tournament Committee cancelled the AJGA Qualifier for the CorseMax/Philadelphia Runner Junior Sunday. Fourteen boys and four girls were selected via Performance Based Entry to compete in the tournament August 11-14 at Stonewall Links — North Course.
“We were very fortunate with the weather for most of the day, however we ran out of luck with about five holes to play and we had to cancel the round,” Tournament Director Adam Johnson said. “Hopefully we will have clear blue skies for the rest of the week.”
Qualifying in the Boys Division were Alex Edfort of Somerset, N.J., Brandon Hartranft of Lancaster, Pa., Joshua Burg of Willow Street, Pa., Michael McCarthy of Tolland, Conn., Sean Hogan of Moorestown, Pa., Stephen Quillinan of West Sand Lake, N.Y., Yong Jin Wang of Mahwah, N.J., Alex Palmer of Lancaster, Pa., Parker Bova of Avon, Conn., Peter Nelson of Clarks Summit, Pa., Michael Savoia of Chester, N.Y., James Bologna, Jr. of Albany, N.Y., Kyle Kergerreis of Chambersburg, Pa., and Patrick Ross of Dunmore, Pa.
Qualifying in the Girls Division were Crystal Lee of Mahwah, N.J., Hannah Kim of River Edge, N.J., Courtney Kordes of Natrona Heights, Pa., and Aliza Shatzman of Amler, Pa.
All other participants who did not withdraw prior to the cancellation of the AJGA Qualifier received one performance star.
The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

The opening round of the CorseMax/Philadelphia Runner Junior is Tuesday, August 12 with tee times running off the first tee from 7:30 a.m. — 12:18 p.m. at Stonewall Links — North Course.
