Paris Hilinski of La Quinta, California, earned a wire-to-wire victory at the Texas Junior Golf Tour’s Fifth Annual Lonestar Girls Invitational. In the first round Hilinski holed four birdies, including three on the back nine, to take a four-shot lead into the final round at 2-under-par 70. In the final round, the 15-year-old sank two more birdies to hold off a late charge from the field and win by two strokes. In AJGA competition, Hilinski has one top-10 finish at the 2018 Tathata Golf Junior All-Star Championship.

Jonathan Griz of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, took home his first national junior golf championship at the South Carolina Junior Golf Association’s 24th Annual Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational. After entering the final round five strokes off the lead, Griz turned in a 7-under-par 64 to overtake fellow-AJGA member Gordon Sargent and win the tournament by one stroke. He ended the weekend with a total of nine birdies and an eagle. As an AJGA member, Griz has two top-five finishes, with his most recent one coming at the Judie Oppenheimer Memorial Junior in June where he finished fourth.

Abigail Whittington of Evansville, Indiana, grabbed her first Indiana Golf Association victory at the Champions Pointe Junior Fall Series. Whittington holed five final-round birdies, including three on the final four holes of the front-nine, to erase a three-stroke deficit and win the championship. Whittington has been an AJGA member since 2016, her best finish being a T10 at the 2018 WinCraft / MacArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends.

Drew Salyers of Howard, Ohio, notched his first Golfweek Junior Tour victory of 2018 in wire-to-wire fashion at the Golf Club of Dublin. In the first round, Salyers fired a 3-under-par 69 to take a six-shot lead into Sunday. In the final round, Salyers holed three back-nine birdies to cruise to a comfortable seven-stroke victory. In one year as an AJGA member, the 17-year-old has one top-20 finish at the Memorial Junior in June.
