Without a doubt, athleticism runs in the Moore Family. The siblings Tyler, 18 and Haley, 16, Moore have both experienced impressive success in their golf careers. Haley has won three AJGA events and made the cut at the LPGA Tour’s ANA Inspiration earlier this year. Tyler is also an AJGA champion and he tied for third last year at the FJ Invitational. To top it off this week they are playing in the FJ Invitational and the Rolex Girls Junior Championship at the same time.

Both of them are committed to play at the University of Arizona, and it is no surprise that Tyler and Haley enjoy golfing and pursuing excellence aside one another. But not without a little sibling rivalry, of course.

“We are very competitive,” Haley said. “We have fun when we play together and Tyler motivates me because we are both talented in the same way.”

Along their journey they have learned a few pointers from each other applicable to golf and life in general.

“Haley taught me that in life not everything is going to go your way and you have to stay patient,“ Tyler said.

Aside from dedicating time to their golf games, Tyler and Haley have also invested time into fundraising for The Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation through the AJGA Leadership Links Program. Players are able to choose a foundation to fundraise money that holds importance to them.

“One of my friends from the AJGA mentioned he was in the Leadership Links program so once I decided to check it out and get involved my sister joined too,” Tyler said.

From fundraising to visiting children’s hospitals, Tyler and Haley make time to volunteer while also competing at a high level.

As Tyler heads to Arizona this fall and Haley follows suit the next year, they are excited to be in the same place.

“It’s really nice that we’ll both be so close at the same school,” Tyler said grinning.
