Jimmy Walker looks to continue to prepare male junior golfers in the United States for match play tournaments through his AJGA event, the Jimmy Walker Challenge.
This unique event will feature 32 of the best junior golfers in the world in a team match play competition, November 9-12. The field features players from nine states. Among the 32 players, 17 have won an AJGA event and 30 are inside the top 100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
The event format will feature the two teams squaring off in Four-Ball matches on the first day, Foursome matches on the second day and a return to Four-Ball matches for the final round.
Four-Ball features two players from each team playing their own ball and counting the lowest of the two scores, while Foursomes matches consist of two members of each team competing in an alternate-shot competition.
During his AJGA days, Walker was named a 1996 Rolex Junior All-American, and played in 14 events, including three appearances at the AJGA Boys Junior Championship, now AJGA Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods.
