Lorenzo Elbert Jr. of East Point, Georgia, won The Carolinas-Georgia Junior Championship Boys Division in an impressive showing. The high school senior was the only player in the field to finish both rounds under-par with a first-round 1-under-par 71 and a final-round 4-under-par 68. Elbert Jr. finished at 5-under-par 139 and won the tournament by seven strokes. His best AJGA finish came at the 2017 Greg Norman Champions Golf Academy Junior Championship at T4.

Caroline Craig of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, was the only player to finish under par in the Girls Division in her victory at The Carolinas-Georgia Junior Championship. The University of Georgia verbal commit carded an opening-round even-par 72 and a final-round 2-under-par 70 en route to her two-stroke victory. Craig’s best AJGA finish was T2 at the 2016 Core Golf Academy Junior All-Star.

Joaquin Niemann

Joaquin Niemann is headed to Augusta National Golf Club after winning the Latin America Amateur Championship in dominant fashion. The Chilean’s five-stroke victory came with an inspired final-round 8-under-par 63, the lowest round of the tournament. Niemann won three AJGA events during his time as a junior golfer, including victories in consecutive years at the 2016 and 2017 Sergio Garcia Foundation Junior Championship. Other junior victories include the 2015 and 2016 IMG Academy Junior World Championship and the 2016 and 2017 Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club.

Kaylee Vesely of Austin, Texas, defeated fellow AJGA junior Hailey Jones of Dallas, by one stroke in the LJT Winter Classic. Vesely’s final-round 1-over-par 73 was just enough to hold on after Jones made a charge with a final-round even-par 72. Vesely’s best AJGA finish came at the 2017 Cameron McCormick Junior All-Star where she finished second.
