GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 17th-annual Wyndham Invitational presented by BB&T kicks off on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Sedgefield Country Club with 72 of the AJGA’s best players. The boys-only Invitational returns to the Pete Dye Course for the first time since 2012, after winter damage caused the one-year move from the traditional Donald Ross Course.

In total, 78 players have gone on to compete on the PGA TOUR after earlier playing the Wyndham Invitational presented by BB&T. Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed and Rickie Fowler headline notable alumni who have gone on to TOUR success.

Karl Vilips of (Australia) Wesley Chapel, Florida, leads the field as the current No. 1 player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Vilips has four AJGA wins and 10 top-20 finishes including a win at the 2017 Polo Golf Junior Classic and a T-4 at the 2017 Wyndham Invitational presented by BB&T. This will be his first AJGA competition as the No. 1 junior in the world.

Orlando’s Eugene Hong comes back as the 2016 champion and the 2017 runner-up after being defeated by Trent Phillips of Inman, South Carolina, in a sudden-death playoff. If Hong were to win again he would join Brian Harman as the only player to win the event twice. Hong has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Florida and is No. 13 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

The 72-hole Invitational runs Tuesday through Friday with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. ET.
