The 2018 Insperity Invitational / Patrick Reed AJGA Junior Championship continued to set the bar for fundraising with $140,000 donated directly to charity through the event’s Transamerica Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament. This year’s donations bring the overall charitable contributions from Reed’s AJGA event to almost half a million dollars.

The event is a prominent fixture on the AJGA schedule and has received numerous AJGA Tournament Awards . These awards include the Charitable Giving Award each year since 2014. The event has also been awarded the Open Tournament of the Year (2014, 16) and Junior-Am Fundraising Award (2016, 17).

In addition to hosting an AJGA event, Patrick and his wife Justine have endowed an AJGA Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant to give financial assistance to junior golfers who have the skill, but not the means, to play a national junior golf schedule and ultimately earn a college golf scholarship. Reed also sponsors the AJGA’s bag tag program which conveniently provides the name and graduation year of juniors to college coaches, making the recruiting process easier.

Reed played in AJGA events from 2004-07, earning one victory and six top-10 finishes. He was a member of the East Team for the 2006 Canon Cup, now known as the Wyndham Cup, and was named a Rolex Junior All-American in 2005-07.
