Randy Wise Junior Open
Michaela Morard of Huntsville, Alabama went wire-to-wire to earn her fifth AJGA championship. The three-time Rolex Junior All-American broke LPGA pro Morgan Pressel’s competitive course record, as she shot a first-round 5-under-par 67. Noah Kolar of Grand Rapids, Michigan, fired even-par 216 to take the Boys Division by one stroke. The win was his first-career AJGA tournament title.
KJ Choi Foundation Junior Championship presented by SK Telecom
Sang Ha Park of Cheongju, South Korea, shot 12-under-par 204 to take the Boys Division title in his first AJGA event. Park, who won the tournament by two strokes, holed 15 birdies and two eagles in the tournament. Kelly Sim of Edgewater, New Jersey, carded 14 birdies to earn her sixth-career AJGA tournament title. The Northwestern University signee was the only competitor in the Girls Division to finish under par.
Eagle Crest Junior Championship
Danny Tiscareno of Seattle, Washington, holed 13 birdies en route to earning his first-career AJGA championship. The win was Tiscareno’s second top-10 finish in 2018. Kaleiya Romero or San Jose, California, grabbed her second tournament title of 2018, as she fired a 14-under-par 130 to take a wire-to-wire victory in the Girls Division. The four-time AJGA champion carded 13 birdies and two eagles throughout the tournament. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to weather.
AJGA Junior All-Star at Butte Creek
David Ford of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, notched his first-career AJGA tournament title. Ford holed 12 birdies and an eagle en route to shooting a 10-under-par 206 for the tournament. Irene Jun of San Jose, California, also earned her first-career AJGA victory, as she holed nine birdies to finish at 1-over-par 217 in the tournament. The victory is Jun’s second top-10 finish of her career.
FORE Performance Junior Championship
Ben Smith of Blain, Pennsylvania, shot a 2-under-par 214 to claim his first AJGA tournament title. Smith sank three birdies on the final day to claim a one-stroke victory. Bailey Shoemaker of West Edmeston, New York, also earned her first tournament championship, as she carded a 3-over-par 219 to take the Girls Division. The victory is Shoemaker’s fifth top-10 finish of her career.
