Jimmy Walker Challenge: Teams

Coming off a successful Ryder Cup and in an effort to better prepare male junior golfers in the United States for match play tournaments, Jimmy Walker is partnering with the AJGA to host his first event, the Jimmy Walker Challenge.

This unique event will feature 32 of the best junior golfers in the world in a team match play competition, October 21-23. The field features players from 14 states. Among the 32 players, 24 have won an AJGA event, including 15 in 2016.

The event format will feature the two teams squaring off in morning and afternoon Foursome matches on the first day. The tournament will conclude with another set of Four-Ball matches on the second day.

Four-Ball features two players from each team playing their own ball and counting the lowest of the two scores, while Foursomes matches consist of two members of each team competing in an alternate-shot competition.

During his AJGA days, Walker was named a 1996 Rolex Junior All-American, and played in 14 events, including three appearances at the AJGA Boys Junior Championship, now CB&I / Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods.
