BRASELTON, Ga. – The American Junior Golf Association has announced that All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, has joined the AJGA as an Official Partner.

“As the title sponsor of the ANA Inspiration and the Official Airline of the LPGA, we are proud to be named as an AJGA Official Partner,” said Mr. Hideki Kunugi, senior vice president of the Americas, ANA. “After seeing first-hand the talent that took part in our ANA Junior Inspiration over the last two years, we were inspired to reach the best female junior golfers globally and give them more opportunities to pursue their dreams of playing golf at the highest level. The AJGA is the best partner to help ANA further grow our commitment to fostering the next generation of women’s golf.”

ANA serves as the title sponsor of the AJGA’s newest Girls Invitational, the ANA Junior Inspiration, modeled after the LPGA’s iconic first major of the year, the ANA Inspiration.  The inaugural tournament will take place March 24-26, 2017, at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.

The ANA Junior Inspiration champion will earn an exemption into the ANA Inspiration and test her skills against the top LPGA Tour golfers in the world. The ANA Junior Inspiration is the only event on the AJGA schedule where players can earn an exemption into an LPGA major.

“The ANA Junior Inspiration is slated to be one of the premier tournaments for junior girls in the world,” said AJGA Chief Business Officer Jason Etzen. “Over the past five years, the ANA has shown a dedication to junior golf. AJGA members have competed in the ANA Junior Inspiration since its inception in 2012 and we’re excited for more of our membership to have an opportunity to compete for the chance to play in a major.”

Since its launch in 2012, the ANA Junior Inspiration has had the goal of giving junior golfers the opportunity to play in a major. All past champions of the event including Alison Lee, Angel Yin, Lilia Vu, Haley Moore and Andrea Lee are AJGA alumnae.
