TOUR Highlights: May 8

With a leaderboard full of AJGA alumni and supporters, it was Brian Harman who sunk a 28-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to top world No. 1 Dustin Johnson and Pat Perez by one stroke. Harman, who has a been a regular on TOUR since 2012, earned the win at 10-under-par 278.

Harman was an extremely accomplished player in his time with the AJGA. Harman won several AJGA Invitationals including the 2003 Polo Golf Junior Classic and the 2004 Haas Family Invitational. He went on to be named Rolex Junior Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004, one of only five males to win the award multiple times. The other names on the list are Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Tracy Phillips and Peter Uihlein.

Ariya Jutanugarn was outlasted by Sei Young Kim 1-up in the finals of the Citibanamex Lorena Ochoa Match Play presented by AeroMexico and Delta. Jutanugarn, who had to defeat her sister Moriya Jutanugarn in the Round of 32, enjoyed an incredible career with the AJGA from 2010 to 2012. The Thailand native won the Rolex Girls Junior Championship in 2011 and 2012 and was later named the Rolex Junior Player of the Year in each of those seasons. She is the most recent girl to win multiple Rolex Junior Player of the Year awards, joining six others: Victoria Tanco, Beth Bauer, Grace Park, Kellee Booth, Vicki Goetze-Ackermann and Heather Farr.

Nate Lashley won his first Web.com Tour title at Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship with a finish at 20-under-par 268. His final-round 6-under-par 66 moved him from two off the lead to a one-stroke victory. Lashley competed on the 2001 Wyndham Cup as a member of the West Team and was later named a 2001 Rolex Junior All-American.

John Daly won his first PGA TOUR Champions event a year after starting on the Tour at the Insperity Invitaional. Daly held off Tommy Armour III and Kenny Perry to win by one stroke. Daly’s son made his debut with the AJGA this year at the AJGA Preview at Innisbrook (Ages 12-15).
