PGA TOUR

Jason Dufner won the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide in Dublin, Ohio, on June 4.  Dufner finished at 13-under-par 275 to edge out the runners-up, including Rickie Fowler, by three strokes. This victory is the 5th PGA TOUR title of Dufner’s professional career.

Dufner competed with the AJGA during 1994-95. The Ohio native competed in five national tournaments in that time. His highest AJGA tournament finish was 14 at the 1995 Ray Floyd Turnberry Isle Junior Classsic.

LPGA Tour

On June 4, In-Kyung Kim won the ShopeRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer. She trailed eventual runner-up Anna Nordqvist by two strokes after the first round. Kim came back in the final two rounds to finish at 11-under-par 202.

The 28-year-old Kim competed with the AJGA for two years (2005-06). She is a two-time Rolex Junior All-American with two junior titles to her name: the 2005 Hargray Junior Classic and the 2005 USGA Girls’ Junior Amateur Championship. Kim garnered top 10 honors at all six of her national junior tournaments before turning professional.

Symetra Tour

Kim Welch finished T2 with Daniela Iacobelli at the Fuccillo KIA Classic of New York at Capitol Hill. She carded a 7-under-par 206, but fell one stroke short of the title. Welch recorded 11 birdies through the three-round event.

Welch was an AJGA junior for two years (1999-2000). Her best finish during those years came at the 2000 AJGA RS Investment Sacramento Junior Classic, where she finished T13. While a student-athlete at Washington State University, Welch notched 29 top 10 finishes, 11 of which were tournament wins.

Conrad Shindler and Chesson Hadley faced off in a playoff at the Rex Hospital Open at TPC Wakefield Plantation. It was Shindler who took the title, with a two-putt par on No. 18 in the one hole playoff. Hadley and Shindler were tied after the final round at 15-under-par 269.

Shindler was a 2006 Rolex Junior All-American after two victories at the 2006 Smithfield Junior Championship and the 2006 Fidelity Investments Stars of Texas Junior. In his four years with the AJGA (2004-07), the Texas A&M alum earned nine top 10 finishes. Hadley was a two-time Rolex Junior All-American (2005-06) during his three years as an AJGA junior. In 2005, he only finished outside of the top five on one occasion.

European Tour

Matthew Fitzpatrick finished runner up at the Nordea Masters behind Renato Paratore of Italy. The tournament was held at the Barseback Golf & Country Club in Sweden. Fitzpatrick finished at 10-under-par 282 with fellow Englishman Chris Wood.

Fitzpatrick competed with the AJGA in 2011 at The Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf. In 2013, he was the first Englishman since 1911 to raise USGA’s oldest trophy, the prize for a victory at the Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. Fitzpatrick’s last tour win came at the 2016 DP Tour World Championship, where he recorded a 17-under-par 271.
