2016 champion returns
The 2016 champion Eugene Hong of Orlando, Florida, is back in the Haas Family Invitational presented by BB&T field to defend his title. Hong won his first Invitational by four strokes with a score of 6-under-par 274.
North Carolina locals
Nine juniors from North Carolina are set to compete in this year’s event. Michael Sanders of Davidson, Akshay Bhatia of Wake Forest, and Ryan Gerard of Raleigh, are all ranked in the top-30 in the AJGA Rankings and represent the state of North Carolina in the field.
Sedgefield Country Club
Sedgefield Country Club’s Donald Ross Course plays host to the PGA TOUR’s Wyndham Championship, set to be played August 14 - 20, 2017. This is the 16th year of the Haas Family Invitational presented by BB&T, and ninth time Sedgefield Country Club has hosted.
