Alyaa Abdulghany of Newport Beach, California, won the individual stroke play at the 2017 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup supported by JAL. Abdulghany was also a member of the winning USA Team in the match play event. The USC commit carded a 7-under par 281 on her way to victory. The No. 5 junior in the AJGA Rankings also won the 2017 Thunderbird International Junior on May 26. Abdulghany will represent the West Team at the 2017 Wyndham Cup beginning July 4.

Coalter Smith of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, won the Big “I” State Championship in Frankenmuth, Michigan, on June 19. The 16-year-old recorded a 1-under-par 143 to win by four strokes. He sunk eight birdies over the course of two rounds. Smith is in his first season with the AJGA.

Leila Raines of Galena, Ohio, claimed the Girls Division title at the SOPGA Junior Tour Event #6 in Pickerington, Ohio. The 15-year-old sunk six birdies on her way to a 1-over-par 145 finish. Raines is in her third AJGA season and garnered her first national junior golf title at the 2017 Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star on June 5.

Trey Winstead of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, won the 2017 Junior PGA Championship Section Qualifier at Diamondhead Country Club on the Cardinal Course. The 18-year-old shot both rounds under par to finish at 13-under-par 131. The LSU commit has competed with the AJGA for four years and won his first AJGA event at the 2014 AJGA Junior at Southwind presented by True Temper. Winstead is No. 33 in the AJGA Rankings.
