BRASELTON, Ga. – The American Junior Golf Association announced July 20 that LPGA Tour professional Stacy Lewis will join its Foundation Board of Directors.

Lewis, an AJGA alumna and two-time world No. 1, has partnered with the AJGA since 2012, first for the KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior Open and now for the KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational. She is a two-time LPGA Rolex Player of the Year with 11 professional wins including two major championships. Lewis introduced the AJGA to KPMG and has supported the KPMG Stacy Lewis Women’s Finance Internship at AJGA National Headquarters since 2015.

"I have truly enjoyed working with the AJGA over the past 5 years,” said Lewis. “They have helped to shape the way the game is played at the highest levels both through their training of young golfers and those who run the golf industry. I look forward to working with them to ensure greater opportunities to grow golf for both girls and boys."

The mission of the AJGA Foundation is to help create an environment in which the organization can grow opportunities for the current and next generations of junior golfers through access to a number of initiatives. The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant Program provides financial support to junior golfers who aspire to earn a college golf scholarship. The Leadership Links program teaches young men and women charitable giving skills at an early age. The internship program provides career development for the next generation of golf professionals. Lewis joins seven current members of the Foundation Board of Directors.

“Stacy has been a champion of women’s golf and junior golf for many years,” said AJGA Executive Director Stephen Hamblin. “She will fit in seamlessly with the Foundation’s mission and I’m excited to see her impact on junior golfers for years to come.”

Lewis joins the Foundation Board of Directors effective immediately.
