Rose Zhang of Irvine, California, carded four rounds under par to win the Girls Junior PGA Championship by six strokes at The Country Club of St. Alban’s Lewis & Clark Course in St. Albans, Missouri, last week. The 2021 grad followed up her first round of 3-under-par 69 with a 7-under-par 65 on the second day. Zhang closed out with 12 birdies in her final two rounds to soar up the leaderboard and take home her first title of 2017.

Noah Goodwin of Corinth, Texas, made one of the biggest comebacks in U.S. Junior Amateur history during the final eight holes of the match play final last week. Goodwin, four down against Matthew Wolff with eight to play, started his rally by making a birdie on the 29th hole. Goodwin went onto winning the 32nd and 33rd holes to get the match back to all square. Goodwin made a birdie to close out the match at the 36th hole and take home the 2017 U.S. Junior Amateur title.

Jansen Smith of San Angelo, Texas, tied AJGA history last week after posting a 9-under-par 61 in the final round of the Folds of Honor Junior Championship hosted by Bob Estes. After sitting fourth going into the second round Smith carded four birdies and an eagle to jump into the lead. In the final round, Smith would go onto accumulate nine birdies for a total of 16 for the tournament along with two eagles. The 2018 grad brought in only one bogey over the 54-hole event for a tournament total of 19-under-par 191—enough to tie the AJGA’s 54-hole record.
