Last Year's Runner-up

Yujeong Son of Norman, Oklahoma, currently sits at No. 11 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and is the highest-ranked girl in the field. The 16-year-old was the runner-up in last year’s event and recently competed in the 2017 Wyndham Cup for the West Team. Son also recently won the Kathy Whitworth Invitational and reached the Round of 16 at the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship.

Strong Tournament Field

There are 39 AJGA champions in the tournament field, more than any of the previous years in the tournament’s four-year history. The players in the field have combined for 57 AJGA victories and 20 players have committed to play golf at the collegiate level.

Chia-Yen Wu

Chia-Yen Wu of Hsinchu, Taiwan, is playing in her first career AJGA event this week. At just 13-years-old, Wu made it to the semifinals of the U.S. Women’s Amateur last week at San Diego Country Club. She won her quarterfinals match on the 30th hole, setting a new record as the longest match in the U.S. Women's Amateur's history.
