Tournament Storylines

The all-mighty Michigan
Four juniors are verbally committed or have signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at the collegiate level in Michigan. The schools they have committed to include Mott Community College, University of Michigan and Michigan State University.
Local players in the field
Of the 96 players in the tournament field, 27 are from the state of Michigan. Of those 27, two call Bloomfield Hills home, Christopher Williams and Imaad Qureshi.
Fighting for the prize
Four of the top-five finishers in the 2014 event return to compete for the top spot, including Nick Carlson (1st), Brendan O'Reilly (3rd), Devin Deogun (4th) and James Piot (T5). In the Girls Division, two of the top-five finishers in the 2014 event return to compete for the top spot, including Bing Singhsumalee (2nd) and Julia Dean (T5).

Media Accommodations

The AJGA Junior at Forest Lake presented by Tom Holzer Ford will have AJGA communications representatives on hand to assist media throughout the week. Prior to the tournament the AJGA will provide information about the event and its participants, as well as assist with player interviews.

After each round, media officials on-site will write a recap with the day's results. These will be emailed to all media outlets. Interviews with AJGA Tournament Directors, Tournament Chairmen and juniors may be conducted before or after tournament rounds.

About the AJGA

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2018, the American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.
