National Qualifier Round 1 Results

GENERAL INFORMATION: Monday, July 26, 2010

APPLICATION WINDOW: The application window will be open from Friday, June 25 at 3 p.m. ET Monday, June 28 at Noon ET. The Qualifier field and alternate list will be posted Tuesday, June 29 at 5 pm ET.

HOUSING: The Atherton Hotel (125 South Atherton St., State College, PA 16801) will serve as the host hotel and has given the AJGA a special rate of $99 per night per room plus 8.5 percent tax, which includes a complimentary shuttle to and from the University Park Airport (SCE). Average rates for this time are $120 per night. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 832-0132 or (814) 231-2100. Be sure to identify yourself as an AJGA participant. You must call by July 16 to receive the special AJGA rate.

AIRPORT: Players should make reservations into University Park Airport (SCE), which is approximately 25 minutes from the hotel and the golf course. The Atherton Hotel provides a complimentary shuttle from the University Park Airport (SCE) that can be arrange by calling (814) 231-2100. Additional options: Harrisburg International Airport (HIA) is approximately two hours from both the hotel and golf course, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP) is approximately two hours and 30 minutes from both the hotel and golf course, Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is approximately three hours from both the hotel and golf course and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is approximately three hours and 30 minutes from both the hotel and golf course.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION: National Car Rental, the Official Car Rental of the PGA TOUR and now the American Junior Golf Association, provides AJGA members and their families with discounted fixed rates on all car categories. Enroll free in the Emerald Club to earn free days or make a reservation directly from the AJGA Web site. PRACTICE ROUND: Players may arrange practice rounds by contacting Penn State Golf Course at (814) 863-0257 on an individual basis. There are no restrictions on available dates or times. Rates for practice rounds are as follows for juniors: Monday Thursday, $31 without a cart and Friday Sunday, $43 without a cart. Rates for parents/family to play are as follows: Monday Thursday, $33 without a cart and Friday Sunday, $47 without a cart. Cart rentals are $17/rider.

REGISTRATION: National Qualifier Registration will be Monday, July 26 from 6:30 7:30 a.m.

STARTING TIME: 8 a.m. shotgun (Players will be called to their carts approximately 30 minutes prior to the starting time for announcements). In the unlikely event of a weather delay, the AJGA will play until dark if necessary to complete the Qualifier.


CODE OF CONDUCT: All AJGA participants are expected to abide by the AJGA Code of Conduct. Violations of the Code of Conduct policy will be dealt with based on the severity of the misconduct.

Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
