The American Junior Golf Association provides junior golfers the opportunity to earn college golf scholarships, and with programs such as Playing It Forward, it also emphasizes old-fashioned values like punctuality, courtesy, etiquette, and stewardship. Playing It Forward is a new initiative that takes the AJGA’s mission one step further and teaches charitable giving skills at an early age to help develop young men and women. In this program, juniors secure pledges in their communities to support local charities as well as the AJGA.
Playing It Forward will give AJGA members all the tools necessary to coordinate a successful fundraising campaign in their communities with the opportunity to give back. There are currently two programs designed and ready to be implemented: Birdies for Charity and the Golf-A-Thon. If juniors would like to use their own ideas and share with other juniors, those will be posted as they become available.
