Qualifier Information

QUALIFIER INFORMATION

Date: Monday, July 4
Golf Course: The Highlands at Harbor Springs – Moor Course

Starting Times: 8 a.m. shotgun. Pairings will be posted on ajga.org 48 hours prior to the first tee time.

Registration Time: 6:30 – 7:30 a.m. Players are encouraged to arrive no more than one hour before their tee time to register. Players are required to register before the start of their round.

Practice Facilities: Players are encouraged to arrive on-site no more than one hour before their posted tee time. Players will be allowed to warm-up on the driving range or practice putting green in the order that they choose.

Code of Conduct: The AJGA will not tolerate players or parents who do not adhere to guidelines put in place to promote social distance and player safety. We reserve the right to penalize and/or disqualify players who knowingly and willingly disregard our policies to promote social distance. Players are also responsible for the actions of their family members.

Qualifying Policy: Players must declare their intention in the scoring area to either accept a spot in the tournament field should they qualify or not. Once a player has signed his/her scorecard, the decision is final. Players who earn Performance Based Entry status will have the current season and the following season to use the Performance Stars. Players who qualify or accept a spot in the tournament do NOT forfeit Performance Based Entry status earned in the AJGA Qualifier.

Qualifying Spots: The exact number of qualifying spots will be posted at the qualifier registration area. Any ties for the final qualifying spots will be determined by a sudden-death playoff upon the conclusion of play.

Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather that warrants a cancellation of the AJGA Qualifier, the remaining tournament spots will be decided by Performance Based Entry.

Alternate Status: In case of tournament withdrawals, participants who fail to qualify with the next best score will be placed on an alternate list. Alternate status will be determined by the following formula:

1. The order of finish in a playoff.
2. Total score on Nos. 1-6 handicap holes on the course scorecard.
3. Total score on Nos. 7-12 handicap holes on the course scorecard.
4. Lowest individual hole score starting at No. 1 handicap hole until the tie is broken.
5. By lot.

Junior Plus Member Swing Videos by FLIGHTSCOPE: All Junior Plus Members may record swing metrics and an HD video through FlightScope technology on the driving range at any time during the event. Players can share videos and data in their Player Center, shared to college coaches through AJGA recruiting profiles. Contact the Tournament Director to schedule time to film a swing video.

Clubhouse Guidelines: More information regarding clubhouse access will be available at a later date.

Scorecards: Players will be required to bring a smart phone or device with internet capabilities that supports the Golf Genius application (available on iOS or Android) to use for their official scorecard and live scoring during all AJGA events. Please make sure you have the most updated version of the app. Instructions on how to use the app can be found here. Each player will be provided with a GGID at the starting tee and will be assigned to mark for another player in the group. The player is responsible for providing their own device and ensuring it is fully charged for the round.

Tournament Information: Tournament Information will be given to all qualifiers by the Tournament Director via e-mail and text at the conclusion of the Qualifier. For those players who qualify, the $295 Tournament entry fee will need to be paid via the Players Center prior to Tournament Registration. Qualifiers who are not AJGA members must complete the AJGA membership application online and pay the membership fee prior to the tournament.

Tournament Headquarters: Coca Cola Junior Championship at The Highlands Tournament Headquarters is located in the Teaching Center off the main dining/grill area. Please feel free to call Tournament Headquarters at (503) 475-4430, with any questions. Players and parents are encouraged to call or email the Tournament Director with any questions that they may have and avoid visiting the Tournament Headquarters.

PRACTICE ROUND INFORMATION

Dates available for play: 2 days prior to the event starting.
Tee Times Available for play: Subject to The Highlands at Harbor Springs – Moor Course’s availability.

Participants may make tee times by calling The Highlands at Harbor Springs – Moor Course (231) 526-3028. Please identify yourself as an AJGA participant. Practice rounds during these times are for players only.

Practice Facility Times: M-F (6 am – 6:30 p.m.). Please call the golf shop to confirm facility times as these are subject to change over the course of the year.

Greens Fee Rates: Junior: $50, Adults/Parents: $85, Additional $30 for a cart

Code of Conduct: Practice rounds are at the individual’s expense and are provided at a reduced rate by the AJGA and the host facility. Players and guests must comply with all rules & expectations at the host facility including, but not limited to, a restriction of the number of shots to be played, disrespectful behavior towards host club staff and/or members, overall time limits and limitations of non-paying guests. Failure to comply with these rules and The Highlands at Harbor Springs – Moor Course rules and regulations with regards to social distancing may result in the forfeiture of your practice round and potentially disqualification from the tournament.

TRANSPORTATION

Airport: Players should make reservations into either Pellston Regional Airport of Emmet County or Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City (TVC) which are approximately 20 minutes or 1 hour and 40 minutes away from the hotel and golf course.

Official Push Cart of the AJGA – Bag Boy: As the Official Push Cart of the AJGA, Bag Boy will be providing all players the opportunity to borrow a Nitron push cart up to two times at any tournament throughout the year. Push carts will be available on a first come, first-serve basis at every event, and players who borrow a push cart during an AJGA event will become eligible to win a free Bag Boy push cart in December. If you are interested, see the Tournament Director on-site to reserve your cart and sign an agreement form.

Rangefinders: The AJGA allows the usage of distance-measuring devices in all AJGA competitions. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or MEASURE OTHER CONDITIONS that might affect his/her play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 4.3(1).

Spectator Golf Carts: Golf carts and spectator carts are not allowed without a Government issued Blue Permanent Handicap placard. Please see the Tournament Director on-site to receive an approved cart.

Push Carts: Push carts (non-motorized) are approved for use by all players as permitted by the host facility. Players are responsible for providing their own push carts.
