Jutanugarn competes on international stage
AJGA alumnae traveled across the globe to compete in this
week’s Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Oct. 11-14.
Featured amongst these professionals is Bangkok, Thailand native and 2011 Rolex
Junior Player of the Year, Ariya Jutanugarn.
Jutanugarn tallied two AJGA victories throughout the 2012
schedule, opening the season with a win at the Thunderbird International
Junior. She shattered the AJGA girls’ 72-hole scoring record at the Rolex Girls
Junior Championship, where she had an 18-stroke cushion to take the title.
After a bogey-free first round at the Sime Darby LPGA
Malaysia event, Jutanugarn sits at T15, alongside AJGA alumnae Sydnee Michaels,
Vicky Hurst, Brittany Lang, Inbee Park, Paula Creamer, Lexi Thompson and Cindy
Lacrosse. She posted birdies on Nos. 6 and 12 en route to a 69, and will play
with Vicky Hurst and Brittany Lang at 8:51 a.m., MYT.
