What is your favorite AJGA venue?

J: Grayhawk Golf Club where the Thunderbird International Junior is played.
B: Any of the sites where PGA TOUR events are played, but TPC Sawgrass was an amazing venue and a tournament I will never forget.


The Dry Heave is Jane's favorite AJGA cookout activity!

What is your favorite AJGA cookout activity?

J: The Dry Heave contest held during Thunderbird!
B: At this year’s Polo Golf Junior Classic, we did a closest to the pin from the opposite side of the ball. It was really neat seeing everyone’s hand-eye coordination.

The best thing about living in Torrance or Virginia Beach is…?

J: In Torrance, the weather is awesome year-round!
B: Virginia Beach is good because I enjoy the community, subtropical weather, being near the ocean and centrally located in the heart of the East Coast allowing for easy travel. I feel proud to call Virginia Beach my home.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

J: Chicago because I get to see most of my family up there.
B: Boise, Idaho because of the outdoors and I used to live out there. In addition, it’s one of the few places you can ski and play golf in the same day.

What is your favorite thing about winter break?

J: Getting a break from school!
B: Being able to play a tournament in sunny Miami during the winter is cool.

Who is your favorite non-golfing athlete?

J: Michelle Kwan
B: Roger Federer because he is the prime example of how to combine being a competitor and a sportsman.


Brinson spends his free time hanging out at the beach.

What was the last book you read? Was it for school or for fun?

J: I just read the Chronicles of Narnia for fun!
B: I read The Great Gatsby for school, but I was surprised when I actually enjoyed the story.

If you went to sing karaoke, what song would you sing?

J: I don’t karaoke. Just ask my friends. I’m not allowed to sing out loud!
B: “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” because it has always been one of my favorites.

If you could be friends with any celebrity, who would it be and why?

J: Hayden Panettiere from Heroes because she is very low key and has a great wardrobe!
B: David Letterman because he makes people laugh.

If golf wasn’t your hobby, what would you spend most of your time doing?

J: Sleeping!
B: I enjoy basketball, traveling, running, hanging out with my friends and going to the beach.

ACE

The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant program provides financial assistance to junior golfers who wish to play in AJGA events. Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
