Duke Universitys Lindy Duncan, ranked No. 1 on the Golfweek/Sagarin Womens Individual Rankings, received top honors at this years NCAA awards ceremony.
Following the conclusion of the 2012 NCAA Championship, Duncan was named PING National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) National Player of the Year, winner of the Golfstat Cup, NCGA First Team All-American and NGCA All-East Region.
Duncan birdied four of her last five holes to tie for sixth at the NCAA Championship. In addition to having placed top-10 at all of her starts this season, she won the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview, Northrop Grumman Challenge, Bryan National Collegiate and the ACC Championship. The two-time ACC Player of the Year will begin her senior season tied for fifth in wins and top-10 finishes in Duke womens golf history.
Before beginning her NCAA career, Duncan won the first event of her AJGA career in 2006 at the First American Title Junior Classic and placed in the top-10 in nine of her 16 appearances. She was a second-team Rolex Junior All-American in 2006 and 2008 and played twice in the Rolex Tournament of Champions.
Duncan recently represented the U.S. in the 2012 Curtis Cup at the Nairn Golf Club, in Nairn, Scottland.
