The Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf

Since 2007, The Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf has tested the best junior golfers from around the world. Eleven of those players have also made an appearance in the professional counterpart, THE PLAYERS Championship: Byeong Hun An, Bud Cauley, Morgan Hoffmann, Brooks Koepka, Smylie Kaufman, Justin Thomas, Patrick Rodgers, Jordan Spieth, Daniel Berger, Emiliano Grillo and Matthew Fitzpatrick.

The 2016 Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf has a unique connection to THE PLAYERS Championship that goes back to the event’s roots. For the first time in its history, Sawgrass Country Club will host the Invitational. From 1977-81 THE PLAYERS Championship was played on the same fairways. The champions of those events include legendary names like Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino and Raymond Floyd.

This year, a new set of world-class players will take on the East & West courses at Sawgrass Country Club. After top-five finishes in 2015, Davis Shore and Eugene Hong return to the field as the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the Polo Golf Rankings will go head-to-head with Rolex Junior Player of the Year honors still hanging in the balance. Joining them will be the best golfers from 22 states and 19 countries.

In 2015, The Junior PLAYERS Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf lived up to the high expectations as Chun-an Yu of Taoyuan, Taiwan, sunk an eight-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to secure a win in his first-ever AJGA Invitational appearance.

Seventy-eight of the world’s top players will compete to be the next name added to one of the most prestigious trophies in junior golf.
