Get to know the Spring Tournament Assistant (TA) for 2026, Josh Bradley. The AJGA’s TA Internship is an elevated traveling internship position for those who have completed at least one season of the traveling internship in the past. TA's serve as the right-hand of the Tournament Director. They are responsible for all administrative duties, while also leading the interns in all on-course operational responsibilities.

Bradley worked as a summer Operations Intern in 2025 and has shared what he is looking forward to as he returns this year and what he learned from his first experience.

Can you share a little about your background? How did you know you wanted to work in the sports industry?
I am originally from Columbia, Missouri and I'm working on my master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Missouri. Ever since I got to the University of Missouri, I knew that I always wanted to be involved in sports and athletics after I stopped playing sports competitively. I found out quickly that working in junior sports was my favorite because of the memories that are made as a younger kid with your friends, teammates and family can have a mighty impact you can have on a junior. I knew that I wanted to impact younger athletes and their families by giving them an experience they will never forget, no matter what sport they might participate in.

How did you find out about the AJGA?
I found out about the AJGA Internship after a summer internship in 2024 with the Missouri Golf Association. That following fall semester, I had a professor send me a link for the AJGA Operations Intern role, then I luckily got invited to attend IRW (Intern Recruiting Weekend), and was then fortunate enough to be apart of the AJGA as a summer Operations Intern in 2025.

What was your experience as a Traveling Operations Intern like?
The Operations Internship is one that I will never forget. I enjoyed seeing so many new places across the country, I met amazing individuals and I was able to network with someone new every week while going from tournament to tournament. Seeing the junior golfers success and putting on professional tournaments, along with creating long-lasting friendships with my team members, is something that I will never forget.

Has there been a favorite memory you’d want to share about your internship experience so far?
My favorite memory that sticks out to me was an interaction I experienced between a dad and his son who had just won his first ever AJGA tournament in Colorado. The junior shot 22-under-par for the event and won by seven strokes. I had the opportunity to score his group and got to experience a lot of smiling and laughing with the player. After this, I then got to witness his dad embrace him with a hug along with lots of cheers and a few tears too. To me, this is why junior sports, and overall, the AJGA, matters. The ability to create opportunities like this for kids across the world so they can experience lifelong memories that they won't forget.

What were some skills you took out of the Operations Internship that you think set you up best for the TA role?
I think the biggest skill that I gained was overall communication with others. Working on a team of other interns for an entire summer, plus meeting new full-time AJGA staff members, golf course staff, members, sponsors, board members, and countless others, I learned how to connect with people in ways I never thought were possible. Learning how to navigate this and get the most out of myself on a day-to-day basis was important in being successful and having a successful tournament for the juniors and their families.

You’re back this year for the TA Internship, what are you most excited for?
I am most excited to step into a little bit of a new role with the elevated responsibility that it provides. Seeing many different TA’s last summer, I learned so much from them and how to properly help orchestrate and navigate the tournament operations side. There is so much that goes into just a singular day of a tournament, and so with that additional responsibility, I am looking forward to making a difference and helping impact the tournament successfully.

What are your future career goals?
In my future career, I would like to continue to work with an amazing team of people like at the AJGA. Running the top junior golf tournaments in the world for the games next collegiate and professional players has been a blast and could see myself continuing down that path, but also potentially diving into the college athletic space, specifically in NIL or sponsorship interests me.

What would you tell someone looking to apply for the AJGA Internship?
I would tell someone who is looking to apply for the AJGA Internship that you should not hesitate to apply. The AJGA internship is so much more than just golf, and it will teach you so much about yourself after you go through it. It was the best decision I made in my career to do the internship, and I know that if you love sports, team environments, and running and operating events, this internship would be for you.

If you're driven to be part of this dynamic community, applications for the 2027 Traveling Internship will open in August. For more insights into the #AJGAInternship, explore the AJGA Careers   webpage and  Instagram channel  .
