Millburn Ho completed a full-circle moment this past summer as an AJGA Traveling Intern. As a junior golfer, Ho competed in several AJGA events, earning three top-10 finishes. Like many who apply for the AJGA internship, golf has played a significant role in her life, especially the AJGA.

Ho picked up golf at a very young age and never wavered.

“I started golfing when I was three after watching my dad hit balls at the range. I got super curious and wanted to try it myself, so my parents picked up a little set of clubs from Goodwill. Ever since then, I’ve been hooked on the game,” Ho said.

As Ho’s game developed, she began playing in AJGA events, hoping to be discovered by collegiate coaches and possibly earn a scholarship. In 2019, she competed in four AJGA events and eventually went on to play college golf.

“I began participating in AJGA events to gain exposure to college coaches. I started sending my AJGA schedule to coaches, and they would come to see me at events I played in. That’s how I came across the FIU coach. He was watching someone else in my group, and that’s how we got into communication. The next year, I was verbally committed,”

Ho earned a Division I scholarship to Florida International University and later transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she played collegiate golf for four years between the two schools.

“It was so much fun being a college golfer. It’s a lot of stress at times balancing golf and academics, but it teaches you how to be responsible and manage your time these are tools I won’t forget,” she said.

After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, Ho began navigating the next steps of her career, knowing she wanted to work in golf. She remembered the AJGA Internship from her playing days and decided to apply in hopes of giving back to the juniors walking the same path she once did.

“As a junior playing in AJGA events, I was always intrigued by the interns working the tournaments. I learned about the internship by talking to them, and from that moment, I knew I wanted to do it when I was older. The idea of traveling, being part of tournament operations, and helping the next generation of junior golfers really stood out to me.”

As an Operations Intern, Ho worked in tournament management, rules officiating, and course setup and breakdown throughout the summer. While on the road, she valued the relationships she built with parents, juniors, and her intern team.

“The internship is really a unique experience… I enjoyed speaking to the parents and juniors, especially when they asked about golf. I was able to share my own AJGA journey in hopes of helping them along the way.”

Now in graduate school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Ho is applying the knowledge and insight gained on the AJGA Internship into her professional career journey.

“I would like to build a career in the sports industry, and I’m open to exploring different paths within it, whether it’s event operations, marketing or athlete management. The AJGA internship helped me prepare by giving me hands-on experience in how sports events are organized and managed. I learned how to work in a team, communicate effectively, and handle challenges in a fast-paced environment.”

Ho’s transition from AJGA junior to Operations Intern is just one example of the many routes that lead to the AJGA Internship. From those with no golf experience to former AJGA players, the internship is built for all backgrounds.

If interested, applications for the 2026 Summer Traveling Internships are open through January 11th, 2026.
