The AJGA Junior All-Star at Quail Creek presented by City of Robinson received the American Junior Golf Association’s 2020 Junior All-Star of the Year Award.

Each year, the AJGA recognizes top tournaments, committees, and individuals who produce outstanding work during the previous AJGA season in 15 categories. AJGA annual awards distinguish the effort of supporters who make each quality tournament experience possible and in the Junior All-Star of the Year category, highlight community involvement and charitable giving.

"What an absolute honor to be named the Junior All-Star of the Year. We have an amazing community here in Robinson. Everyone from our Committee Members, to our sponsors, and our many volunteers love supporting Junior Golf and the AJGA. Hosting this event is one of Quail Creeks favorite events of the year. We hope to continue to make our event even better in the coming years."
Jay Prindable, Tournament Chair

AJGA Junior All-Stars provide juniors with the opportunity to play at a higher level and showcase their talent to college coaches across the nation. These events also raise money to give back to the AJGA ACE Grant and other foundations like the Lincoln Trail College Foundation.

AJGA events would not be as successful as they are without our generous volunteers. The 2020 AJGA Junior All-Star at Quail Creek presented by City of Robinson had every volunteer position filled, averaging around 30 volunteers a day throughout the week. Their commitment is appreciated and is a large part of the event’s award recognition.

Quail Creek Country Club also went above and beyond, specifically to accommodate the AJGA staff. The country club offered complimentary housing, as well as some complimentary meals. Additionally, the country club let AJGA staff play the course after each workday. Both Quail Creek Country Club and the sponsors renewed their commitment and will put on the 2021 AJGA Junior All-Star at Quail Creek presented by the City of Robinson July 13 to 16.

Another key ingredient that makes tournaments successful, and win awards like Junior All-Star of the Year, is the tournament committee. In 2020, all tournament committee positions were filled for the event at Quail Creek, with sub-committees also in place. The committee secured substantial sponsorship, while also helping eliminate tournament costs by home cooking meals for the staff and donating water and ice.

"The host committee, Quail Creek, sponsors, and volunteers played a key role in this event achieving Junior All-Star of the Year. We have received overwhelming volunteer support from the community, and it has created an experience that our participants will never forget."
Ryan Flanagan, Regional Director

AJGA tournaments are annually honored in the categories of hospitality, fundraising, charitable giving, volunteers, engaged media, and social media. The year’s most outstanding golf professional, superintendent and golf course executive are honored alongside the most game-changing overall event, best new event, and top honorees in each tournament ‘series’ (Preview, Junior All-Star, Open and Invitational). Awards are presented on-site during the tournament week.
