How much data does the Golf Genius App use while inputting scores on my phone?

Golf Genius takes very little data. It is equivalent to looking at one web page each time you enter scores and press save.

What if the battery life on my phone starts to get low?

If your phone dies on the golf course, please notify your rules official and they can help you enter scores every few holes. Please physically record your scores and the scores of the player you are marking for on a scorecard or something similar during this time so you have something to reference.

What if I have a bad signal out on the course?

If you experience poor signal, please notify your rules official and they can help you enter scores every few holes. Please physically record your scores and the scores of the player you are marking for on a scorecard or something similar during this time so you have something to reference.

Can a parent enter the scores for a player or group during the round?

The juniors in the group are required to enter scores. If the player has no phone or phone issues, the junior may use their parent’s phone to enter scores.

What if I have an international plan or my phone does not have data at all?

If this is the case, please notify your rules official and they can help you enter scores every few holes. Please physically record your scores and the scores of the player you are marking for on a scorecard or something similar during this time so you have something to reference.

What if my phone doesn’t have available storage to download the Golf Genius App?

Please make room for the app on your phone as it only takes up a small amount of space. You are welcome to delete the app after your round.

How does the AJGA determine which players mark for each other?

Golf Genius will automatically select markers within each group based on the pairings. If the pairings are the same across multiple rounds, markers will change from round to round.

Why does the AJGA want Juniors to enter scores?

There are many people who are not able to attend AJGA events and having live scoring allows them to keep up with the players they know or are interested in following. It is a great service to those who may not be able to attend.
