Shuttle Driver Training

The following instructions will provide you with the tools to have an enjoyable experience as a Shuttle Driver.

Check-in

· Please report to Volunteer Check-In 30 minutes prior to your assigned time, located in the Ladies Locker Room.
· Pick up equipment.
· Radio, if necessary
· Pairings sheet
· Check in with Marie White or an AJGA staff member after you arrive at your designated shuttle area.

Shuttling Players

· Your primary job is to shuttle players from the green of the hole just completed to the next tee.
· Position yourself so players will easily see you coming off the green
· If you are in a shuttle cart it is ok to shuttle players and some spectators
· If you are in a standard two-person golf cart you will be responsible for shuttling one or two players
· If you need to shuttle two players, have both players put their bags on the back of the cart and have both sit on the seat next to you
· AT NO TIME SHOULD A PLAYER OR SPECTATOR BE STANDING ON THE BACK OF THE GOLF CART
· If a player has a pushcart it should still be able to be strapped onto the back of the cart without separating the golf bag from the pushcart
· AT NO TIME SHOULD THE SHUTTLE DRIVER HOLD THE PLAYERS PUSHCART TO THE SIDE OF THE GOLF CART WHILE DRIVING (THE PLAYER SHOULD NOT HOLD THEIR PUSHCART TO THE SIDE OF THE GOLF CART WHILE IT IS IN MOTION)
· Feel free to return to the green and pick up any spectators and shuttle them to the next tee after taking care of the players

Rulings
· Please DO NOT attempt to give a ruling to the golfers.
· If a golfer asks for your help in finding a rules official to give a ruling, please use your radio or find the nearest AJGA official or other marshal with a radio.

Be Prepared
· Wear comfortable shoes (preferably, no golf shoes).
· It is a good idea to wear a fanny pack instead of a purse.
· Sunscreen will be available at the starting tee if you do not have some.
· All volunteers will receive a shirt and cap which they should wear.
· There is an athletic trainer on-course should anyone need medical attention.
· There is water on every other hole, as well as, snacks and drinks at Nos. 1 and 10 tees.
