AJGA alumnus J.J. Spaun made the most of his appearance at the Valero Texas Open. Not only did Spaun earn his first PGA TOUR victory at the tournament, but the win locked up his spot in The Masters.
Spaun entered the final round in a four-way tie for the lead with Beau Hossler, Dylan Frittelli and Brandt Snedeker, at 10-under-par. Knowing the stakes were high, Spaun wanted to get off to a hot start. After blistering his tee shot down the fairway of No. 1, Spaun hit a wayward approach shot and ultimately made a double bogey. Unfazed by the poor start, Spaun put his head down and rallied with three birdies to make the turn at 1-under-par 35.
Spaun carded a bogey-free back nine from there, making birdies on Nos. 11 and 14 for a final round total of 3-under-par 69. He won the tournament by two shots at 13-under-par 275.
With the win, Spaun became the first golfer since Tiger Woods at the 2008 U.S. Open to win a tournament after carding a double bogey on the first hole of the final round.
Spaun only competed in one AJGA tournament during his junior golf career, finishing T10 at the 2007 TomatoBank Southern California Classic.

AJGA alumna Jennifer Kupcho made the final leap into Poppie's Pond at The Chevron Championship. April has been good to Kupcho in recent years, as her first LPGA victory came just three days shy of the three-year anniversary of her win at the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur.
Kupcho played inspired golf in the first three rounds of the tournament, carding rounds of 66-70-64 to take the 54-hole lead at 16-under-par 200. Firmly in the driver's seat, Kupcho knew she had one good round of golf standing between her and the Major title.
Her final round proved to be an up-and-down affair, as Kupcho carded five birdies to seven bogeys for a 2-over-par 74. Despite two of those bogeys coming on the final two holes of the tournament, Kupcho's six-stroke lead to start the day was enough for the two-shot win at 14-under-par 274. With one final leap into Poppie's Pond, Kupcho etched her name in history.
Kupcho only competed in one AJGA tournament as a junior golfer, finishing T3 at the AJGA Hale Irwin Colorado Junior.

AJGA alumna Andrea Lee endured a sudden-death playoff for her first professional victory at the Epson Tour's Casino Del Sol Golf Classic. After finishing the tournament at 18-under-par 270, Lee headed to the playoff with fellow alumna Lucy Li.
With a par on the third playoff hole, Lee locked up her first professional win. Lee has the most wins in Stanford Women's Golf history and was a 2014 Rolex Junior Player of the Year. She was also a five-time Rolex Junior All-American who won the 2014 Yani Tseng Invitational presented by the Swinging Skirts and the 2014 Rolex Tournament of Champions.
