AJGA and University of California alum Collin Morikawa joined Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only PGA TOUR players to win their first PGA Championship at the young age of 23. He won by two strokes at 13-under-par 267 after draining a putt for eagle on No. 16 to take a two-shot lead. His weekend 36-hole score of 129 was the lowest weekend score ever by a major winner.

AJGA alum and tournament host Danielle Kang won on the LPGA Tour for the second consecutive week after winning the Marathon Classic presented by Dana. She finished her last six holes with four pars and two birdies to win the title at 15-under-par 269. With the two wins, Kang has claimed the No. 2 spot in the world.

Another Alabama men's golf and AJGA alum won on the Korn Ferry Tour as Lee Hodges won the WinCo Foods Portland Open. With the win, Hodges also earned an exemption into the U.S. Open. He claimed three top-10 finishes as an AJGA junior golfer prior to playing collegiate golf at University of Alabama - Birmingham and University of Alabama.
