On the eve of the annual Justin Thomas Junior Championship, AJGA alumnus and tournament host Justin Thomas claimed his third victory of the season at the World Golf Championship Fedex St. Jude Invitational. He became the third-youngest player since 1960 to reach 13 PGA TOUR wins behind only Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. The University of Alabama alum won three AJGA championships as a junior golfer and was a two-time Rolex Junior All-American.
AJGA alumnus Richy Werenski claimed his first PGA TOUR win at the Barracuda Championship in Truckee, California. The Championship is played in Modified Stableford format and Werenski won by one point. He had seven top-10 finishes at AJGA events and went on to play collegiate golf at Georgia Tech.
In the LPGA's return to golf, AJGA alumna and tournament host Danielle Kang won the LPGA Drive On Championship at Iverness Club. She finished at 7-under-par 209 to claim the victory by one shot. As a junior golfer, Kang was a two-time Rolex Junior All-American and had 10 top-10 finishes at AJGA events. She now hosts the AJGA Lake Las Vegas Junior hosted by Danielle Kang in December.
