Professional Recap

Seven years removed from his last win on tour, AJGA alumnus Harris English broke through at the Sentry Tournament of Champions for his third PGA TOUR victory.

As the tournament wound down to a close, English realized that 72 holes might not be enough. He stepped up to the 18th tee trailing fellow AJGA alumnus Joaquin Niemann by one stroke. English kept his composure however, blistering a drive down the middle of the fairway that allowed him to go for the par-5 green in two. He subsequently hit the green and two-putted for birdie and a spot in the playoff.

The pair headed back to the 18th tee, where English played the hole just as he did in regulation, hitting the green in two and two-putting for another birdie and the win.

In his AJGA career, English competed in eight tournaments between 2004-06, with his best finish being third at the 2004 Burgett H. Mooney, Jr. Rome Classic.
