AJGA alumnus Jim Furyk was named the PGA TOUR Champions Rookie of the Year after a stellar opening season on the circuit. Furyk earned three wins, including the U.S. Senior Open, and finished the season at No. 2 on the Schwab Cup.
Furyk was an active AJGA member from 1986-88. He competed in 26 tournaments during that span, including the 1986 and 1987 Rolex Tournament of Champions. Furyk was named a First Team Rolex Junior All-American in 1987 thanks to his playoff victory at the Ben Hogan Boys Junior Championship and top-10 finishes in five other tournaments.
