Andrew Landry battled down the stretch to earn his second PGA TOUR victory at The American Express.
Undeterred by entering the tournament having missed seven of eight cuts to begin the season, Landry got off to a hot start through the first three rounds to ascend to the top of the leaderboard. Landry, who entered the final round tied for the lead, quickly pulled away as he took a six-stroke lead with six holes to play after making a short birdie putt on the par-4 No. 12.
Though he looked in prime position to win the tournament, Landry struggled with bogeys on each of his next three holes to fall into a tie for the lead with a surging Abraham Ancer. Just when it looked like the wheels were falling off, Landry bounced back with birdies on his final two holes to win the tournament by two strokes at 26-under-par 262.
Landry finished T8 at the 2004 PING Harvey Penick Junior, his only AJGA tournament.

Gaby Lopez got off to a great start in 2020, winning the LPGA's season-opening Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions after a seven-hole playoff.
Lopez earned her way into the playoff with a bogey-free 5-under-par 66. Her final round featured four birdies on the back nine, including an 18-foot birdie on her final hole of regulation. Her tournament total of 13-under-par 271 was enough to secure her playoff spot with Nasa Hataoka and Inbee Park.
Park was eliminated after the third playoff hole, but Lopez and Hataoka were only getting started. After matching each other on the next two holes, the playoff was postponed until Monday morning due to darkness. That did little to deter Lopez, as she rolled in a 30-foot putt for birdie on the seventh playoff hole to earn her second LPGA title in the LPGA's fourth-longest playoff.
Lopez competed in national junior golf competition from 2008-11. She played in a total of 20 AJGA tournaments over those four years, winning the Mayakoba Junior Golf Classic in 2009 and 2010. She was named a 2010 Rolex Junior All-American.
Best of the Rest
