Professional Recap

AJGA alumnus Zecheng Dou from Beijing, China, claimed his third Korn Ferry Tour victory at the Ascendant presented by Blue and earned his card back to the PGA TOUR.

Dou kicked off his week with five birdies and two bogeys to card a 3-under-par 69 on Thursday. With a round of 5-under-par 67 on Friday, Dou reached 8-under-par 136, two shots behind the leaders Ryan McCormick and Dawson Armstrong after 36 holes.

The 25-year-old kept a steady pace on the moving day, and managed to cluster four birdies on his front nine to card a bogey-free round of 4-under-par 68, which led him to share a one-stroke lead with McCormick and Armstrong into the final round. Before his 72nd hole at TPC Colorado, Dou built a one-stroke lead with six birdies and no bogeys over his AJGA fellow Carl Yuan, who ranks No. 1 on the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season Points List. Dou two-putted for bogey on the par-4 No. 18 and signed for a 5-under-par 67 in the final round to earn a one-stroke win over Yuan.

Dou competed at 15 AJGA tournaments between 2011-2014, and earned medalist honors at the 2011 Trader Joe's Junior Championship hosted by Pat Hurst Qualifier. His best finish was the second place at the 2011 W. Duncan MacMillan Classic at Rush Creek.
