AJGA alumna Ruixin Liu became a five-time Symetra Tour champion after winning the Carlisle Arizona Women's Golf Classic last weekend. Liu carded four-straight rounds in the 60s to end the final round tied with AJGA member Rose Zhang at 17-under-par 271 to go into a playoff. Both players parred the first playoff hole but it was Liu's birdie on the second that earned her the victory.
Liu played in four AJGA events with her best finish coming at the 2015 ANNIKA Invitational where she was runner-up. Zhang, still an amateur, was making her first Symetra Tour start. In her AJGA career, Zhang has 10 wins and is a two-time Rolex Junior Player of the Year.
