Professional Recap

Matt Jones won The Honda Classic last weekend to earn his second PGA TOUR victory and first since his win at the 2014 Shell Houston Open. Jones opened with a 9-under-par 61 to take the lead and followed it up with rounds of 70-69-68 to finish at 12-under-par 268 to win by five strokes.

AJGA alumnus Brandon Hagy was the top-finishing alumni with his runner-up finish. Hagy played in AJGA events from 2006 until 2008 and was an AJGA Scholastic Junior All-American in 2008. His best finish was second at the 2006 Medicus Preseason Junior at Rancho Mirage.

AJGA alumna Ruixin Liu became a five-time Symetra Tour champion after winning the Carlisle Arizona Women's Golf Classic last weekend. Liu carded four-straight rounds in the 60s to end the final round tied with AJGA member Rose Zhang at 17-under-par 271 to go into a playoff. Both players parred the first playoff hole but it was Liu's birdie on the second that earned her the victory.

Liu played in four AJGA events with her best finish coming at the 2015 ANNIKA Invitational where she was runner-up. Zhang, still an amateur, was making her first Symetra Tour start. In her AJGA career, Zhang has 10 wins and is a two-time Rolex Junior Player of the Year.

Roberto Díaz earned his first Korn Ferry Tour win after holding off fellow AJGA alumni Peter Uihlein at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open presented by MISTRAS. Díaz carded rounds of 69-65-64-68 to finish at 18-under-par 266 and win by one stroke.

Díaz played in one AJGA event during his junior career. He finished 48th at the 2002 Thunderbird International Junior.
